Ultra-High Sensitivity Microarray Slides, Genewave S.A.S.
July 2006
SHARING OPTIONS:

Genewave S.A.S. has launched a new AmpliSlideT product line of high-sensitivity reflective microarray slides which will allow the study of low-expression genes. AmpliSlideT combines a proprietary, fluorescence-amplifying dielectric coating with highly efficient binding chemistries. AmpliSlideT 570/670 A (aminosilane), the first product released, is designed for double color (CyT3/CyT5 or analogous dyes) DNA microarray experiments. This special reflective coating is tailored to provide up to 16-fold signal enhancement balanced in both colors, compared to conventional aminosilane microarray slides. A glass microarray surface reduces both fluorescence excitation and emission through interference at the air-glass interface. Only a small percentage of emitted light reaches the detection optics, while most fluorescence is trapped within the glass slide. The AmpliSlideT addresses this problem with a proprietary optical multilayer reflective coating deposited on the glass surface prior to chemical functionalization. Interference effects are exploited to concentrate the light emitted from the spots into a narrow cone and redirect it to the collection optics of the microarray scanner. The AmpliSlideT is compatible with all standard microarray equipment, such as arrayers, hybridization stations and top-reading scanners.
